Looking for a sublet starting April 2026 (4/1) in Pilsen apartment!
I am currently looking for someone to sublet my room in my apartment starting April 1, 2026 until the end of the lease period (July 31, 2026). If you'd like to renew your lease, you can chat with the current tenant and the leasing company!
The... apartment is located in a lively spot at the intersection of Throop & 18th Street and is just a few blocks away from Thalia Hall, lots of great restaurants, and several public transit options that go to UIC East (#18, #60, #8) and West Campus (Pink Line) as well as the Loop. It is also a short walk (~4 mins) away from a local grocery store or a short bus ride away from two Jewel Oscos, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's. I have lived in this apartment for two years now and the building management is very co-operative, responsive, and quick with maintenance requests.
The apartment has a living room with an open kitchen and one shared bathroom. You will have the smaller room, which can comfortably fit a queen-sized bed. It also has a closet and an overhead storage space. The apartment also comes with a dishwasher and an in-unit washer dryer. It has central air conditioning and heating. Utilities (wifi, gas, and electric) will be split between you and the current tenant and they come up to ~ $60-70 per month. The apartment is sparsely furnished, since the current furniture belongs to me and I will be taking it to my next apartment.
You will share the apartment with another UIC PhD. student. They are quiet and respectful and prioritize tidiness in the common areas. I have lived in this apartment for 2.5 years and lived with my current roommate for about 6 months, and have enjoyed doing so. I have only decided to sublet the room since my partner and I have decided to move in together!
If you would like to take a look at the apartment, either in-person or over a video call, please let me know and we can arrange some time to do so!
